Film

One of my favorite things in the world is to work with music and audio for moving picture, and especially for film.  The following are a few examples of my work in film, some are original music, other projects have entailed handling all mixing and editing, sweetening of the audio for the final mix.

Inspired by Cinema Paradiso, this is a movie theater promo trailer made for the historical Tampa Theatre. Music co-produced and composed by Alfredo Rivero and Jim Beckwith forGrown Man Films in Tampa, Florida. The whole story, about 4:30.

Next, a short clip from Mai’s story, part of Joanne Hershfield’s film “Men Are Human, Women Are Buffalo”. Bamboo Flutes courtesy of George Tortorelli. Original Thai-influenced music by Jim Beckwith.  The cool thing for me was that it was like scoring for a silent film during these vignettes telling stories in the style of Thai shadow puppetry, with subtitles.

This is a short film called Killing Time, featuring the work of Tampa Poet Laureate, James Tokley, Sr. – he’s on screen, too.  This film placed 2nd in the Big Muddy Film Festival.  All music by Common Touch Music.  Vocals and theme song by Jim Beckwith.
